Western region secondary schools sports association (WRSSSA) has officially released the pools, draws and venues for the 2026 Term two games ahead of July 8-11 Championship in Bungoma.

According to the organisers, matches will be played across several venues, including Bungoma High School, Kibabii University, Bukembe Boys, St. Xavier, Kanduyi Stadium and Sudi stadium.
The stage has been set for an exciting battle for regional glory after the Western Region Secondary Schools Sports Association (WRSSSA) officially released the pools, draws and venues for the 2026 Term two games.
The championship, scheduled for July 8-11, 2026, will be hosted in Bungoma County, bringing together some of the region’s top-performing schools in football, volleyball, netball, rugby sevens and basketball 3×3.
According to the organisers, matches will be played across several venues, including Bungoma High School, Kibabii University, Bukembe Boys, St. Xavier, Kanduyi Stadium and Sudi stadium.
In girls’ football, former national giants Butere Girls headline Pool A alongside Ibubi, Brenda and Kingandole, while Pool B features another powerhouse, Madira Girls, who will face Mwira, Mungore and Chakol in what promises to be a highly competitive group.
The boys’ football contest has also produced mouthwatering fixtures. Defending county champions and regional contenders Musingu High School will battle Emusire, Bukembe and Kolanya in Pool B, while Pool A pits Butere Boys against Mbale, Kibabii and Nambale.

Volleyball enthusiasts will be treated to thrilling encounters as traditional giants clash for supremacy.
In the girls’ category, former national champions Butere Girls are pooled with Mudavadi, Bumala AC and Lugulu, while Chavavo, Lwanya, Miruri and Mwitoti make up Pool B.
The boys’ competition will see Vihiga, Cheptais, Butula and Mukumu face off in Pool A, while Senende, Chesamisi, Kolanya and Malava battle in Pool B.
Basketball 3×3 has attracted strong participation, with schools such as Cardinal Otunga, Eregi, Butere, Kaimosi, Mukumu, Musingu, Nyang’ori and St. Xavier among those expected to challenge for regional honours.
The rugby sevens tournament is equally loaded with talent. In the boys’ category, rugby powerhouses Mukumu, Musingu, Vihiga, Butere and Bungoma High headline the pools as they seek qualification to the national championships.

The girls’ competition features strong contenders including Butere, Madira, Eregi, Tigoi, Kaimosi and Kongit.
Netball action at Bungoma High School will see teams battle through two pools, with Mwitoti, Ibubi, Bumala AC and Chepkube in Pool A, while Mukuyu, St. Claires, Nangina and Bukokholo make up Pool B.
The championship is expected to attract thousands of players, coaches, officials and fans as Western Region’s finest schools compete for supremacy and a chance to represent the region on the national stage.
