The school feeding progamme plays a great role in sustaining pupils in schools especially in Arid and Semi-Arid (ASAL) areas of the republic, says West Pokot KNUT official Martin Sembelo.
Speaking to Education News after overseeing the presentation of election requirements by various KNUT aspirants at KNUT Headquarters in Kapeguria, Sembelo said it was a timely programme that needs to continue.

“I really appreciate the school feeding programme by the Ministry of Education (MoE) as it has enhanced and sustained a good number of pupils and I urge the MoE to continue with the same spirit,” he said.
During first term and part of second, many families normally experience food shortage caused by famine and drought .The effect is contributed to by the general climatic change around the world.
KNUT elections will be held today (February 24) at Makutano Stadium in Kapenguria to fill various positions left vacant.
