West Mugirango Member of Parliament (MP) Steve Mogaka has thanked President William Ruto for his recent tour of the region to initiate, revive and boost development projects, including in the education sector.
MP Mogaka, who led the residents in a thank you note, welcomed the President’s pledge of Ksh 10 million each to Nyaigwa Girls and Nyamira Boys School for infrastructure improvement.
“This shows the President’s commitment to improving education in this country by providing necessary supportive learning materials,” Mogaka said.
The legislator further appealed to youth to rise above ethnic-based politics and register as voters in large numbers to exercise their civic rights.

During Ruto’s tour, the head of state promised a total of Ksh 16.9 billion towards the construction of affordable housing, modern markets, Nyamira University hostels, and a new Ksh 1 billion hospital.
Noting that sports provide a level ground for youth to exploit their talents, he pledged Ksh 900,000 for a new stadium in Nyamira, in addition to Manga Stadium which has stalled many years.
Nyamira Boys School Chief Principal George Onkundi said the money pledged by the President comes at an opportune time when the school needs funds to support various programmes, especially the expansion of classrooms to accommodate growing student enrollment.
