The Wango Christian Academy in Bondo produced stellar performance in the 2021 KCPE examinations to become one of the best achievers in Siaya County.

The school which has modern infrastructure and is situated in Bondo town posted a mean of 360.39 which is an improvement from the 2020 KCPE results where the school had a mean of 349.

The improvement saw the school placed at position two in the entire Bondo and Rarieda sub-counties beating all the hundreds of primary schools.

In the 2021 results, four candidates scored 400 marks and above out of the possible 500 marks. The top candidate Evans Ousa scored 418 marks and was the top candidate in the two sub-counties.

The elated Ousa who aspires to join Alliance High School before pursuing a career in Engineering told Education News that he was shocked with the performance since it had appeared as a miracle to him. He however thanked God for seeing him through the exams and eventually performing well.

School head teacher Caroline Adera noted that the results were a culmination of hard work and determination of the teachers including the disciplined learners.

“2021 was a difficult year at the start. We were able to surmount the challenges by exploiting team work. The strategy was to peg the candidates to teachers so that their academic needs would be effectively addressed and we are proud that it worked,” remarked the head teacher.

Board Member Dr. Ezekiel Nyagera while acknowledging the tireless efforts of the teachers noted that they are satisfied with the exemplary showing in the 2021 KCPE results.

He appreciated the parents for the support accorded to the school. He also acknowledged the ministry of education for policy guidance that has seen the school cement itself on chats of top performers in the region.
