University of Nairobi celebrated the International Teachers Day in style by offering 137 masters degree scholarships.

In an announcement made on October 5, 2021, UoN offered the scholarship for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The scholarship is only open to applicants for the September 2021 intake. Application will end on October 15, 2021.  It will also be given based on merit, preference being given to the best students.

“Applicants should have completed and graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi in the academic year 2019/2020 (except for School of Medicine, School of Dental Science and School of Nursing Sciences which require mandatory two (2) years practical experience before admission into a master’s programme,” the announcement reads in part.

Students from the school of Sciences should have first class or second upper class division.

The scholarship will run for two consecutive years except for the School of Medicine and Dental Sciences which runs for four years.

Students who will be sponsored will not have a chance to defer or temporarily withdraw during the scholarship period. This implies that the scholarship will only be accorded to full time students who will be required to take the maximum number of units per semester.

Female candidates, candidates from less privileged regions and candidates with special needs are encouraged to apply.

The eligible candidates are advised to send their application letters addressed to the Dean. Letters of admission and certified copies of degree certificates and transcripts should be addressed to the respective deans.
