Turkana University ICT lecturer Mr. Nathan Ruto and Mrs. Ruth Chepoghisho have officially tied the knot in a colourful wedding ceremony held at Holy Rosary Girls Senior School in Ortum, West Pokot County.
The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Clement Rong of Mlima Jordan Maswan Full Gospel Church of Kenya (FGCK), Ortum, and brought together family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers from different parts of the country.
The Full Gospel Church in Nawoitorong, Turkana, where Ruto is a member, played a key role in the celebrations, bringing a distinct Turkana cultural flavour to the occasion.

Turkana traditional songs took centre stage, creating a lively and celebratory atmosphere as guests from different communities joined the couple in marking their union.
The wedding offered a beautiful blend of faith, music and culture, highlighting the strong social and cultural ties between the Turkana and West Pokot communities.
The large turnout of family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers reflected the couple’s strong connections in both Turkana and West Pokot.
As they begin their journey together as husband and wife, the celebrations provided a memorable demonstration of how love, faith and culture can unite communities and bring people together.
