TSC has intensified monitoring of social media platforms and other communication channels following concerns over the spread of unverified reports regarding school fire incidents across the country.
Teachers have been urged to exercise strict professional responsibility by refraining from sharing unconfirmed alerts, speculating on ongoing incidents, or participating in discussions that may incite learners or the public.
The commission warned that spreading misinformation undermines public safety and order and may constitute a serious breach of the Code of Conduct and Ethics for teachers.
It further cautioned that such conduct may attract disciplinary action including sanctions where necessary in accordance with existing regulations.

TSC has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding learners and maintaining professionalism within the teaching service, especially during periods of heightened public concern.
It emphasized that teachers, as role models in society, are expected to verify information before sharing it online and to avoid amplifying rumours that may cause panic among parents, students and communities.
The commission further noted that the rise of digital communication has increased the speed at which misinformation spreads, making vigilance and responsible communication essential within the education sector.
It called on all teachers to adhere strictly to professional ethics and cooperate with authorities in ensuring that accurate information is shared with the public at all times.
TSC said compliance with these directives is mandatory and warned that any violation will be treated as misconduct subject to disciplinary procedures as outlined in existing policy frameworks governing teachers in the country.
