TSC names new County Directors in more changes

By Our Reporter

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has continued to make changes on its field officers in an effort to improve teacher management services.

This follows closely a major shake-up of both regional and county directors done last week that saw some Sub-County Directors (SCDs) and Deputy Directors promoted to higher ranks while some County Directors (CDs) got promoted to Regional Directors’ (RDs) positions. Education News exclusively reported this development.

However it appears the changes are not done and dusted. In the latest changes, the immediate former Deputy County Director, George Thuo has been promoted to County Director for Nyeri County.  Thuo has taken over from Elijah Omwenga who was promoted to become the Central RD.

TSC has also promoted the Kiliwehiri SCD, Ali Noor Hassan to become the Deputy County Director for Mandera County. He will also be in charge of Mandera East as its SDC.

In a similar promotion, Victoria Musyoka who has been the Kangema SDC has been promoted and transferred to Tharaka Nithi as the new Deputy County Director.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has swapped two County Directors in the latest transfer changes. The Bungoma County Director of Education, Philip Chirchir will now exchange place with his counterpart, Pius Ngoma who was in Kisii.

MOE conducted a major shake-up of its regional and county directors about two weeks ago. The operation involved new appointments, transfers and promotion of these senior officers.
