The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued an internal memo clarifying the delay in reimbursing transport and overhead expenses for Junior School teachers who participated in the ICT integration training under the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project (KDEAP).
The nationwide training, organised by the ICT Authority (ICTA) in collaboration with TSC, was conducted across all 47 counties between June 17 and June 28, 2026. It aimed to equip Junior School educators with critical digital skills for modern teaching and learning under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework.
According to the official document signed by Dr Mugwuku Nthamburi, Director of Teacher Professional Management, processing reimbursement claims requires submitting original attendance registers, participant payment lists, venue invoices, and details of county training officers. However, verification by the ICT Authority flagged several operational discrepancies that have temporarily stalled payments, including the submission of SACCO account details rather than standard commercial bank accounts, inactive or dormant bank accounts, and incomplete participant data with missing administrative details for certain teachers and officers.

To address these issues and unlock the disbursements, TSC has directed all Regional and County Directors to compile, verify and submit the missing information by September 25, 2026. County offices must submit the verified data using prescribed templates to the Director of Teacher Professional Management via dirtpm@tsc.go.ke. Once received and verified, the complete records will be submitted to the ICT Authority to fast-track the payment of outstanding reimbursement claims for teachers, Trainers of Trainers (ToTs), Master Trainers, and venue service providers.
