The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has transferred Vincent Omondi Mayienga, the well-known and firm chief principal of Homabay National School to Sirembe Mixed Day Secondary School in Gem, Siaya County, his home area, as he prepares for retirement after many years of dedicated service in education leadership.
He has been replaced by Dr. Joshua Miyawa from Thurdibuoro Secondary school, who takes over the institution as the new principal, marking a smooth transition in management and continuity of academic programs within the school.

Before joining Homabay National School, Mayienga served as principal of Nyalkinyi School and Kuoyo Kochia Boys, where he earned respect for his strict discipline, strong administration skills, and commitment to improving academic performance across institutions.
During his tenure at Homabay National School, he also served as the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) sub-county chairman, where he played a key role in strengthening leadership coordination and professional growth among school administrators in the region.
While some may view the transfer differently, it is widely seen as a strategic move that allows him to return home and apply his vast experience to strengthen Sirembe Mixed Day Secondary School and uplift academic standards.
Mayienga leaves behind a strong legacy of disciplined leadership, mentorship, and academic transformation, having positively influenced learners and educators throughout his career in the education sector.
