TSC announces virtual meeting for school leaders with Head of Public Service

Head of Public Service Felix Koskei will convene virtual consultative meetings with leaders of public primary and secondary schools to discuss teachers’ role in public service.

The Teachers Service Commission says the virtual meetings will bring together principals, headteachers and Boards of Management to discuss teachers’ role in public service.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced a series of virtual consultative meetings for leaders of public primary and secondary schools across the country.

In a notice posted on the TSC official Facebook page on Friday evening, March 6, the Commission indicated that the meetings will be convened by the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Mr Felix K. Koskei, EGH.

According to the notice, the engagements will bring together school leadership to discuss the role of teachers within the broader framework of public service and constitutional values.

“The Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Mr Felix K. Koskei, EGH, will convene consultative virtual meetings with the leadership of public secondary and primary schools,” the notice stated.

The Commission further noted that the virtual meetings will focus on strengthening the understanding of teachers’ responsibilities as public servants.

“These engagements will focus on the role of teachers as members of the public service and as custodians of the constitutional values and principles that guide public service delivery.”

School Leaders to Participate

The virtual consultative meetings will bring together various leaders in the education sector, including chairpersons and members of Boards of Management, principals, deputy principals, headteachers, deputy headteachers, and senior administrative officers such as heads of finance, accounts, procurement, and internal audit.

The meetings are expected to provide a platform for dialogue between school leadership and the national public service leadership.

Meeting Schedule

According to the announcement, the virtual meetings will take place on two separate days.

The meeting for public secondary schools will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The meeting for public primary schools will follow on Thursday, March 12, 2026, also starting at 9:00 a.m.

Participants have been advised to coordinate with their respective County Directors to access the virtual meeting link, complete registration, and obtain further details.

“All participants are required to consult their respective County Directors for the virtual link, registration, and further details,” the notice stated.

The virtual engagements are part of ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen alignment between the education sector and the principles guiding Kenya’s public service.
