Lydia Chepkurui, a total orphan from Kamunga, Kaplel Artet in Kericho County, is appealing for financial support to enable her to join Bukura Agricultural College.
Lydia, the third-born child of the late Kenneth Too and the late Ann Too, earned a C (Plain) in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination and has been admitted to pursue a course in Animal Health and Agricultural Production.
Despite securing a place at the college, financial hardship has put her education at risk.
“Lydia has demonstrated determination despite losing both parents. We believe she deserves an opportunity to continue with her education, and we are appealing to anyone willing to support her,” a family spokesperson said.
Fundraiser planned
The family has organised a fundraising drive on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to help meet tuition fees and other related expenses.
Lydia appealed to well-wishers to help her achieve her dream of pursuing a career in agriculture.
“I have always wanted to continue with my studies and pursue a career in agriculture. I sincerely appeal to well-wishers to help me achieve my dream. Every contribution, however small, will make a difference,” she said.

Family members said prayers, financial contributions and other forms of support would be greatly appreciated as they work to ensure Lydia begins her college education. They expressed hope that completing her studies will enable her to build a better future for herself and uplift her family.
