CS Murkomen to preside over Tenwek High School prize giving day as State House, NG-CDF donate two new buses

Tenwek High School in Bomet County is set to hold its 2026 Speech and Prize Giving Day on Saturday, July 18, with Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen expected to grace the event as the chief guest.

The annual ceremony will celebrate outstanding academic performance, discipline, leadership, co-curricular achievements and service by students and staff.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10am.at the school’s main campus.

A major highlight of this year’s celebration will be the unveiling and presentation of two new school buses.

According to the school’s official announcement, the buses have been donated through support from State House and the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), a move expected to significantly improve student transport and participation in academic and co-curricular activities.

The ceremony will be hosted by Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei and Bomet Central MP Richard Kilel, bringing together education stakeholders, parents, alumni, religious leaders and members of the local community.

The school said the event will also provide an opportunity to recognise learners who have excelled in academics, sports, leadership and other areas while reaffirming the institution’s commitment to holistic education under its motto, “We Trust in God.”

The addition of the two buses is expected to ease transport challenges, enhance student mobility and support the school’s growing population as it continues to strengthen its academic and co-curricular programmes.
