- Tenwek High School has announced the transfer of its long-serving Deputy Principal, Ken Kirui, to Boito Boys High School after more than half a decade of service.
- Wesley Mitei has moved from Deputy Principal Academics to Deputy Principal Administration, while Patrick Masime has been appointed Acting Deputy Principal Academics.
Tenwek High School in Bomet County has announced leadership changes following the transfer of its long-serving Deputy Principal in charge of Administration, Ken Kirui, to Boito Boys High School in Konoin Sub-County.
Kirui, who has served Tenwek High School for more than half a decade, has been transferred to Boito Boys in the same capacity, bringing to an end his lengthy tenure at the institution. The changes were communicated by Tenwek High School and the Tenwek Alumni Association on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Following his departure, Deputy Principal in charge of Academics, Wesley Mitei, has assumed the position of Deputy Principal in charge of Administration. Patrick Masime, who previously served as the school’s Internal Quality Assurance Officer, has been appointed Acting Deputy Principal in charge of Academics, while Walter Ongoro will continue serving as Deputy Principal in charge of Boarding.

The school described Kirui’s tenure as one marked by selfless service and dedication, saying his contribution would remain part of Tenwek’s history. “We are forever indebted for the more than half a decade of selfless service of Ken to our school,” the school said in the official communication.
The institution further placed Kirui’s contribution alongside that of former school leader Mutali Chesebe, noting that their names would remain permanently written in the history of Tenwek High School.

The leadership transition comes as Tenwek continues to strengthen its administration and academic structures. The school, formerly known as Tenwek High School and now operating as Tenwek Senior School, is a public boys’ boarding institution in Bomet Central Sub-County. The school community and alumni expressed appreciation to Kirui for his years of service while wishing him success in his new station at Boito Boys High School.
