The battle between Bungoma County Government and a teachers’ sacco over a disputed piece of land continues to hurt 20 teachers who were reportedly allocated plots in the area 15 years ago.
Speaking to Education News one of the beneficiaries, Fred Simiyu, a retired teacher said the sacco purchased the land in 1998 on behalf of the members.
“The land was sub-divided into 20 equal parcels and allocated to each beneficiary in 2006 upon payment of Sh271,000 to the sacco,” he said. -Aggrey Buchunju
