Teachers in Taita Taveta County have been asked to take the Covid-19 vaccine willingly.
Taita Taveta County Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) branch Executive SecretaryLennox Mshila said that teachers should decide whether to take or shun the jab.
“Teachers should analyze the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine and decide whether to take the jab or not. No one should be forced on such matters”, said Mshila.
According to statistics, over 200 teachers have received the Covid-19 vaccine in Taita Taveta County, an impression that a number of teachers have embraced the exercise.
However, according to the head of Covid-19 vaccination, Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi Ever Mwandembo, citizens should not fear taking the vaccines as they have so far seen no serious side effects as a result of the jab.
