Final-year students at Taita Taveta University are raising concerns over delayed examination results, with some fearing they could miss the institution’s upcoming graduation ceremonies.
The students say they have been left in uncertainty as they wait for their results to be released, making it difficult for them to establish whether they have completed their academic requirements and qualify for graduation.
According to the affected students, communication from the university on the matter has been inadequate, with repeated attempts to seek clarification allegedly yielding little information.
The situation has caused anxiety among finalists who had expected to complete their studies and proceed to graduation after sitting their final examinations.
Students question academic calendar
The students have also questioned the university’s adherence to its academic calendar, saying changes and delays have made it difficult for them to plan their next steps after university.
Taita Taveta University’s published 2026 academic calendar indicates that Semester Two examinations are scheduled for August 5–16, while the university has listed December 12, 2026, as its graduation date.
The institution also notes that academic dates are subject to change and students should check with the Academic Registry for updates.
However, the affected finalists want the university to provide clear and timely communication on the status of their examination results and graduation preparations.
They say uncertainty over results could have serious consequences, particularly for students seeking employment, applying for further studies or planning other opportunities that require proof of graduation.

The students are now calling on the university administration to address the concerns, release pending results where possible and provide a clear timeline for graduation-related processes.
