A Kilifi village was on Friday evening engulf in grief following the murder of a teenage girl who was the victim in a widely publicized defilement case.
Kadzo, who had previously survived a defilement case in 2021 and was receiving support through the justice system, was reportedly stabbed by her alleged boyfriend after declining to accompany him to a family event, on the evening of Friday, June 6th, 2025, in Madina, Kilifi County.
According to court documents, the incident occurred late at night on 9 February 2021, when the girl had stepped out to collect her shoes. One of the men allegedly held a knife and threatened the girl while the other carried out the assault.
The court ruled that both perpetrators were equally culpable, with the judge stressing that “even the passive party in such a heinous act carries full responsibility.”
