Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has now raised a storm, claiming that crucial CCTV footage from the home of the late Munyuki Secondary School Principal, Simon Isiaho Shange, was deliberately deleted—fueling fresh suspicion over the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.
Savula, who spoke on Saturday during a fundraiser at Munyuki Secondary School to support the principal’s final send-off, questioned why key footage that could reveal Shange’s last movements vanished at such a critical time.
He insisted that the missing recordings were too significant to be dismissed as an accident.
According to Savula, the contradictions surrounding the case demand deeper scrutiny.

While Shange’s vehicle was found crashed, his body was recovered five days later in the Kipkaren River—an unexplained gap that the deputy governor says cannot be overlooked.
He urged investigative agencies to broaden their probe and establish whether the principal may have been a victim of foul play.
“This is not adding up. The family and community deserve the truth, not guesswork,” he said.
Shange’s death has unsettled the Munyuki community, where he was celebrated as a committed and transformative educator.
The leaders, teachers, and residents who attended the fundraiser echoed Savula’s concerns, calling for transparency and swift justice.
Police are yet to release an updated report as investigations continue.
