Shock as Assistant Chief in Kericho arrested for allegedly defiling 4-year-old girl

An Assistant Chief for Kabianga Sub-Location, Londiani in Kericho County has been apprehended for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl.

The suspect, Douglas Koech Kipkemoi aged 42, is reported to have forced himself on the girl near his home in the event that unfolded on Wednesday July 10, 2024.

According to a police report seen by Education News, the girl is said to have complained of pain in her genital area while urinating on July 11 which prompted her mother to inquire further.

It is when she ended up stumbling across stunning revelations that her daughter has been defiled by the suspect the previous day around 7pm.

“It was established that on July 11, 2024 at about 5pm the child complained of pain in her genital area while she was urinating which prompted her mother to inquire from her what had happened.

“The child then disclosed that she was defiled by one Douglas Koech Kipkemoi aged 42 years (Assistant Chief Kabianga Sub-location) the previous day, at about 7pm near the suspect’s home,” reads the police report.

After the revelation, the suspect surrendered to the police out of fear of being beaten and possibly lynched by the agitated residents.

“Both the victim and suspect were escorted to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and necessary action to be taken,” the report from the police adds.

The police have assured to get to the bottom of the incident to ensure the family of the victim gets justice.

The suspect is set to be arraigned at the Molo Law Courts in the coming days, where the judicial process will unfold.
