Parents’ pain as two daughters are defiled by close relatives

Homa

Parents of a school in Kisii suffered double blow after two of their daughters  were defiled in succession by close relatives.

Reportedly, this heart-wrenching saga unfolded when the older sister, a pupil at Ngenyi Primary School,in Bombaba village, Monyerero ward, Kisii County  was sent home from school for a routine haircut.

After passing through a barber shop, the girl, a mere 12 years old, met with a close village adult man who tricked her with chips and mandazi and took her to his house where he forcefully spent the night with her.

The girl ran away and told her parents about the ordeal but they reportedly compromised with the suspect in doubtful circumstances.

It wasn’t until the child began complaining of severe back aches that the agonizing secret was unveiled, prompting concerned parents to rush her to the hospital, while the suspect went into hiding.

As the parents were preoccupied at the hospital attending to their elder daughter, their younger daughter, aged 10, fell victim to a close relative, reported to be her own cousin, who subjected her to the same horrific fate.

Heartbroken and enraged, the parents were forced to swiftly rush her to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for necessary medical attention.

The Deputy County Commissioner of Kisii Central Sub County, appalled by these appalling incidents, denounced the grave vice of child abuse and urgently called upon parents and educators to educate children on self-protective measures against potential threats.

She attributed this horrifying trend to the broader moral decay within society and implored churches and community workers to instill values of self-discipline for a more harmonious coexistence.

“When we cast aside our personal dignity and integrity, society plunges into the darkness of sin that ultimately leads to destruction,” she noted.

The administrator called upon the police to expedite their investigations and ensure the perpetrators face the full extent of the law.

When Education News reached out to the head teacher of Ngenyi Primary School for additional insights, he expressed his helplessness, as the incidents occurred outside the purview of his school jurisdiction.
