Nominated Senator from Kisii County Essy Okenyuri has asked communities to identify youth with potential and assist them to realize their dreams in life

The legislator said that most youth are suffering in the villages because they have nobody to encourage them on growth and end up in indulging in flaws like early marriages and prostitution.

The senator was speaking at Ichuni Ward in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency from where she assisted to take a girl living with disability to Keroka Technical Training Institute to start her course.

Speaking after being escorted and part of her fees paid to college, Esther Nyambeki did not hide her.

“I had lost hope in life but now I will work hard and realize my dreams because disability is not inability.” She said.

Senator Okenyuri asked Nyumba Kumi groups, community social workers and the church to identify such people living among them and alert leaders and other well-wishers to help them where they can.

She provided a mattress metal box and other bedding for the new student as she opened a new chapter of pursuing technology and vocational studies at Keroka institute.
