St Joseph’s Chepterit Girls High School in Nandi County has proven to embrace inclusivity as the school’s Chief Principal, Mrs. Francisca Chepkwony, on May 4 received and admitted a disabled Form One girl to the National School.
The beautiful Form One girl is disabled and her only dependence is a wheelchair that she uses to move around.
“The school believes in equal opportunity to everyone. I am so happy when Principals in schools start embracing disability mainstreaming. We give all Glory to God. We are happy as community of St Joseph’s Chepterit Girls,” said the elated Mrs. Francisca.
One other Kenyan on social media praised the girl for her determination to join Form One despite her condition: “Bended knees do not mean the end of the road in education. All the best,” said a Facebook user.
