The Samburu County Director of Education Abraham Kenei has urged parents within the county to support school programmes and ensure they are key pillars in the foundation of their children’s education.
Speaking in Kisima Girls during Annual General Meeting (AGM ),Kenei said parents should know that they have roles to play in the process of instilling education to their boys and girls who ara in schools.
“We request all our parents to unite with school principal to improve the standards of education in our school. Parents are key stakeholders in education sector and they should play their role well to enable students get good results,” said Kenei.
The County Director said that when parents fail to pay school fees, schools’ programmes are affected and students cannot get the best education they deserve.

“We want to remind our parents that schools belong to them. We thank all parents who are cooperative with administration in supporting the school programmes. We want to remind some parents who are reluctant and are ignoring their parental role to pull their socks and support their children to make them perform well in school,” He said
He noted that school principals deserve the support from parents for them to perform their duties effectively in both boarding schools and day schools.
He further called on parents to instill discipline into their children, so that they complement the work of teachers in upbringing a morally upright students.
“It is the parental role to positively nurture the discipline of your school children, it will directly contribute to their academic performance,” he said
The Director also urged parents to always put school principals to account to ensure the school provides good results as they support academic programmes.
