Rosebella Ojiambo elected national chairperson of Kenya Private Schools Association, hailed as right choice to steer lobby

Rosebella Ojiambo has been elected National Chairperson of the Kenya Private Schools Association, a move hailed as the right choice to steer the private education lobby.

South Rift Private Schools Association Chairman Alfred Rono congratulated Ojiambo following her election during the association’s Annual Conference in Mombasa, noting that her leadership comes at a critical time as the country implements key education reforms.

Rono, who is also the Bomet Private Schools Association Chairman, described Ojiambo and her team as experienced and capable, expressing confidence that they will work closely with the Ministry of Education to advance quality and growth in private institutions.

“I have full confidence in the new leadership of KPSA. Their vision to collaborate with the government and other stakeholders is exactly what the education sector needs at this time,” said Rono.

He further urged private schools across the South Rift region and beyond to join the association, emphasising the benefits of unity, representation, and shared growth within the sector.

“Membership in KPSA provides a strong platform for advocacy, capacity building, and engagement with policymakers. I encourage all private schools to register and actively participate in shaping the future of education in our country,” he added.

Rono also called on the new leadership to prioritise inclusivity, teacher development, and effective implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum, noting that these areas are key to improving learning outcomes.

After Chairperson Ojiambo reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to partnership and collaboration.

She welcomed the support from regional leaders, stating that collective efforts will be essential in achieving meaningful progress.

“We appreciate the confidence expressed by stakeholders like Rono. Our focus remains on working closely with all partners to ensure quality, equitable, and sustainable education for every learner,” said Ojiambo.

The new KPSA leadership has pledged to strengthen engagement with stakeholders, enhance resource mobilisation, and support schools in navigating ongoing education reforms across the country.
