Robbery concerns in Matungulu as thugs steal Ksh 420, 000 from school

Rampant school Robbery cases in Matungulu Sub County, Machakos County is raising concerns as the latest casualty Fr. Heeran Girls Secondary School is attacked by thugs.

According to preliminary report from police officers, the thugs are said to have broken into the school administration offices including Principal, the Bursar and account clerk’s offices.

This is after they manoeuvred their way into the school compound by cutting a barbed wire surrounding the institution.

It’s reported that they stole a sum of Ksh360, 000, four laptops, a projector and two external hard disks.

They also robbed one security guard of the institution Ksh60, 000 which had been handed to him from a merry-go-round group after being held hostage by the thugs in one of the classrooms.

This is one among the many robbery incidents that have been witnessed in several schools within the sub County in the recent past.

Recently Kyamulendu Primary School was invaded by thugs who managed to take away a staffroom TV, two bags(50kg) of sugar, two bales of maize floor, two cartons of milk, 20 litres of cooking oil, a bale of salt, five boxes matchbox and three dozen of steel wool.

The robbery saw the school security guard injured and admitted at Kangundo Level 4 hospital after sustaining major injuries inflicted by the thugs.
