Over 4, OOO retired teachers in Siaya County have petitioned the Government to pay them retirement benefits.
The retirees lamented that they were yet to enjoy retirement packages in a deal reached at in 1997 between Kenya National Union of teachers (KNUT) by then secretary general Adeya Adongo and the Government.
Their chairman Kephers Omollo Otheo pointed out that Sh 42 billion had been released towards paying retired teachers across the country but it has not trickled to Siaya County.
