Principals told not to assign teachers duties during exams

School principals have been urged to avoid giving teachers duties unless they are related to exams.

Speaking at Wote town, KUPPET Secretary General Makueni branch Justus Kimeu called upon teachers to stay away from exam centers.

“According to Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) guidelines all teachers should be at home when exams are taking place. This is to avoid suspicions or any other irregularity,” the official said.

The unionist called upon parents of day scholar candidates to make sure those children do not carry phones to school or any unnecessary material.

He told them encourage their children to revise for exams since they have been studying for all that long and no need to confuse their minds with leakages.

“How would a parent, candidate feel if they are penalized for leaking exam. There is no need at all let the candidates believe in themselves and do the exam even without panicking,” Kimeu added.
