A five year old PP1 learner from Muusini village, Kauti sub location in Makueni County has drowned following the heavy down pour pounding the area.
The parents of the child got worried when their kid didn’t return home in the afternoon after school.
They started searching for him immediately after the heavy showers only to find the child trapped along the banks of river Muunyini after having been swept away while trying to cross the swollen river.
While confirming the incident, Makueni County commander Joseph ole Napeiyan said the five year old was a learner at Muusini primary school and his body was collected and taken to Kilungu sub county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
