Uasin Gishu County Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Secretary General Elijah Maiyo has blamed acute shortage of teachers for the poor performance in last year’ Kenya Certificates of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
“It is sad that as I am talking we stand at 48 per cent shortfall of teachers. Our output is below what’s is required, this is why as a county we had a mean score of 2.6 which is below average and if nothing will be done the situation will deteriorate,” said Maiyo.
