Parents in Garissa County have been called upon to equip their children with face masks to ensure their safety.
The Garissa County Director of Education Dr Khalif sheikh Isaac said that teachers should ensure that Covid-19 health safety protocols are observed.
‘’Parents must ensure their children wear face masks to protect them from being infected by Covid-19,’’ said Khalif.
He observed that while walking in the outposts and on the streets of the towns, one hardly sees children wearing face masks just like the other residents.
‘’It appears the children are copying the bad behaviour of the other irresponsible residents who tend to believe that Corona doesn’t exist,’’ said Khalif stressing that corona is real and castigated the residents for setting bad examples.
Khalif noted that it is a tragedy that some children are going to school without face masks, saying that the trend can easily contribute to the infection of the Covid-19.
