Learning was temporarily disrupted at Moi Comprehensive School in Nakuru County after parents staged protests over the transfer of the head of institution (HOI) Carol Chebe.

The parents expressed strong dissatisfaction with the decision by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), questioning why the school head was transferred in the middle of the academic term.

They argued that such a decision was untimely and risked destabilizing learning at a critical period when candidates are preparing for national examinations.

The parents noted that the school had been performing well under the leadership of the outgoing headteacher and any abrupt changes could negatively affect both academic progress and discipline.

They further called on education authorities to prioritize stability in schools, especially those hosting examination classes, saying frequent leadership changes often lead to confusion and lowered morale among both teachers and learners.

During the protest, learning activities were briefly interrupted as parents gathered within the school compound demanding explanations and reconsideration of the transfer decision.

Some urged the authorities to ensure proper transition measures are put in place to avoid affecting candidates preparing for their final examinations.

The parents have since appealed for urgent intervention to safeguard the academic interests of learners and restore calm within the institution.
