More than 1194 Early Childhood Development Education, (ECDE), Centres in West Pokot have benefitted from an assortment of items provided by the County Government of West Pokot.
Speaking during the launch,West Pokot Governor,Simon Kachapin stated that the provision was in step with the desire to create a conducive learning environment to all the learners in these centers.
He explained that the assortment would ensure that the youngest children have all the tools that they need to grow, learn and succeed in life because this is a critical developmental stage of learning.

The food that targets 74,000 children enrolled in 1194 Early Childhood Development Centres comprises of 10 tonnes of highly enriched fortified porridge, 2350 chairs, 30 tables and 1.2 tonnes of maize and beans.

According to the County Executive Committee member in charge of Education, Rebecca Kide, the essence of these provision is to boost attendance, make classrooms more child friendly and allow learners to appreciate education at the very foundation of their learning journey.
