Teachers Service Commission (TSC) employed teachers in Nyamira County have come together to help their colleagues in private schools.
The teachers led by Evans Matuga of Sironga Girls’ High School said they have decided to raise funds from their pockets to assist teachers employed by the Board of Management and those teaching in private schools.
So far they have assisted more than 30 teachers. “We decided to reinforce our effort to feed their families at these hard times,” he added.
They appealed to the county and national governments to chip in and assist the teachers as they wait for the schools to reopen.
