The University of Embu has warned students with outstanding fee balances to settle their dues, cautioning that failure to comply could attract disciplinary action.
In a communication attributed to Registrar (Academics, Research and Extension) Prof Jackson Wachira Muthengia, the university said applications for late registration from students who had not cleared their semester fees would not be processed. The institution set September 21, 2026, as the deadline for fee payment for the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Students who had not settled their accounts were directed to clear their balances, with the registrar warning that those unable to do so would be required to call off the semester. The notice further advised students with fee arrears not to sit the ongoing continuous assessment tests (CATs), warning that failure to comply could result in disciplinary measures.
The directive comes as universities continue with academic activities for the new semester, placing students with outstanding fees under pressure to regularise their accounts to avoid disruption to their studies.
The communication was circulated among students through WhatsApp, and the university's official confirmation of the notice had not been independently established at the time of publication.
