TSC chairperson Dr Jamleck Muturi has urged qualified unemployed teachers to prepare for the exercise by ensuring their academic and professional documents are in order. The recruitment is expected to target vacancies in primary schools, Junior Schools and Senior Schools across the country, offering an opportunity to thousands of qualified teachers who have been waiting for employment.
Dr Muturi urged eligible teachers to remain alert and prepare early ahead of the official advertisement, which will provide details on the available vacancies, distribution of posts and application procedures. The replacement exercise will be aimed at addressing staffing gaps caused by teachers who have left the service through retirement, resignation, natural attrition and other forms of exit.
Teachers seeking consideration are expected to meet TSC registration requirements and possess the academic and professional qualifications prescribed for the respective teaching positions. The Commission is expected to publish the official recruitment advertisement once the vacancies have been confirmed and the process approved.
Prospective applicants have consequently been advised to regularly monitor official TSC communication channels and avoid relying on unofficial recruitment announcements.
The November exercise comes as thousands of trained but unemployed teachers continue to wait for opportunities to join the teaching service amid persistent staffing shortages in schools. The recruitment is expected to provide a fresh opportunity for eligible candidates, particularly those who have remained in the pool of unemployed registered teachers.
Applicants will be required to submit their applications through the procedure outlined by TSC once the official advertisement is released. Teachers have therefore been advised to keep their certificates, identification documents, TSC registration details and other relevant professional records readily available to avoid delays when the recruitment window opens.
