Students at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) have welcomed the announcement of an earlier-than-expected end-of-semester examination schedule, with assessments set to run from January 4 to 22, 2027.
The announcement has drawn a positive reaction from students, some of whom had anticipated a longer academic calendar and expected the examinations to be pushed to March.
The university has in the past had extended academic calendars, which often meant students spent longer than expected completing their semesters.
For many learners, the January dates offer a chance to complete the semester earlier, plan their holidays and prepare for the next academic phase without the uncertainty of a prolonged programme.
The schedule will, however, require students to prepare adequately and make effective use of the remaining academic weeks ahead of the examinations.
