According to an official memorandum issued by the Acting Registrar for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Kennedy Getange, all staff and students are expected to adjust their schedules in accordance with the revised dates.
The administration emphasised that the changes aim to streamline operations across all schools and departments, requiring strict adherence to reporting and registration deadlines.
Under the updated schedule for Semester One, which spans from August 2026 to January 2027, teaching and learning activities combining in-person sessions and the online Learning Management System (LMS) will run through December 23, 2026.
Following the end-of-year break, students will sit for their Semester One regular examinations starting January 5, 2027, and concluding on January 22, 2027.
A major highlight of the first semester is the university's 16th graduation ceremony, which has been scheduled for December 17, 2026.
Second-semester reporting and examinations
The institution will transition into Semester Two shortly after the conclusion of the first-semester examinations.
Continuing students are expected to report physically and register on the university's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) portal beginning January 25, 2027, with the registration portal closing on February 5, 2027.
Teaching will run until April 9, 2027, paving the way for end-of-semester examinations through April 30, 2027.
During this period, faculty members will also undertake pool marking, result moderation and departmental submissions before presenting the final grades to the University Senate for approval.
The third semester, running from May to August 2027, is tailored primarily for specialised programmes, including those offered by the School of Health Sciences (SHS), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), and Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm).
Teaching for these trimester units is set to begin on May 4, 2027, leading up to end-of-year examinations in August, alongside special and supplementary examinations for students across all schools.
The university administration has encouraged students to log into the official portal or contact the registrar's office for full operational details.
