- The conference and exhibition have been supported through the Promotion of Youth Employment and Vocational Training Programme, jointly funded by Kenya, Finland, Germany and South Korea.
The International TVET Conference 2026 is set to take place in Nairobi from September 9 to 11, bringing together leaders, practitioners, employers and partners to discuss the future of technical and vocational skills development.
The three-day forum will showcase the growing role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in preparing young people for a rapidly changing world of work.
A public exhibition will run alongside the conference at the Mövenpick Hotel and Residences, Nairobi, offering members of the public an opportunity to explore innovations, technologies and skills development opportunities.
The exhibition will feature live demonstrations, skills showcases, student projects, emerging technologies and industry solutions.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to interact with TVET institutions, trainees, employers and development partners while learning more about available training opportunities and technical career pathways.
Organisers say the exhibition will demonstrate how TVET institutions are responding to emerging labour market demands and equipping young people with practical skills needed in the modern economy. Entry to the exhibition will be free and open to the public.

The conference is being organised by the Ministry of Education, State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The programme will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions and networking opportunities, with stakeholders expected to deliberate on emerging trends and the future of skills development.
The exhibition will complement the conference by providing a practical platform for participants and members of the public to see TVET training and innovation in action.
Through hands-on demonstrations and displays, trainees and institutions will showcase innovations, technologies and training solutions designed to respond to industry needs.
The event is also expected to strengthen collaboration between training institutions and employers while helping prospective trainees understand different technical and vocational career opportunities.
The conference will help highlight the importance of TVET in developing a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of Kenya’s evolving economy and the global labour market
