Bomachoge Chache Constituency Member of parliament Alpha Miruka has elaborated his blueprint in the development of education in the area.
Speaking at Ogembo town on Monday, he agreed that he used the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) meant for sports to top up the Education Bursary Fund.
He said that in this year alone, the Constituency Committee issued Ksh 35 million to fund both University and Secondary students to continue with their education.
“Every student who applied and met the requirements received the money because we considered every one of them,” he said.
The MP said that he made sure that every secondary school in the Constituency received a bus from the NG-CDF kitty and promised to improve infrastructure in primary schools in the next financial year.
“My next step is to ascertain that every primary school in my constituency has storeyed class rooms.” he said.
He thanked institutions like St. Edward Nyabioto for performing well in the national examinations and asked others to pull their socks as he assured their support.
On the improvement of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the MP said that his office will sponsor 100 students to join Riamo Technical Institute to enable them acquire helpful skills.
The law maker asked parents to encourage their children to join TVETs in order to benefit from the free sponsorship to complete their courses.
Saying that the upgrading of Ogembo into a municipality was a blessing, the legislator longed for the completion of Nyamonyo Medical Training College to start absorbing qualified students from the area adding, that the college will start operating by the end of the year.
“We are trying very hard to improve our educational institutions to match with the status of our new upcoming municipal life,” he said.
He appealed to all residents from his Constituency to remain united in order to boost development in the region.
He revealed that his NG-CDF office had put aside Ksh 12 million for promotion of talent among the youth in a tournament scheduled at the end of this year.
