Moi University is in deep mourning following the death of Brian Kiprop, a second-year student who succumbed to leukemia after a long illness.
Kiprop, who hailed from Kaptel in Chesumei Constituency, Nandi County, is remembered by fellow students and lecturers as a humble, disciplined, and hardworking young man who faced his illness with courage and hope.
The university community, family, and friends have expressed profound grief over his passing, describing him as a promising student whose life was cut short while still pursuing his academic dreams.
His death has left a painful void within the institution and his home area.
Family members have confirmed that funeral preparations have been completed, and Brian will be laid to rest tomorrow at his rural home in Kaptel, Nandi County.
Relatives have called for prayers and support as they prepare to give him a dignified send-off.
Moi University leadership has sent condolences to the bereaved family, terming the loss a tragedy not only to the family but also to the entire academic community.
