Meru residents called to embrace and value progression in education

By John Majau

Governor Kiraitu Murungi has called on the people of Meru to embrace and promote education as a way of opening new doors and opportunities for the empowerment of individuals and the community.

The Governor said members of the community who are acquiring high qualifications such as PhD are readying themselves for service of not only Meru County but the nation and beyond, thus avoiding the pressure and competition in the regular job market especially at the county level.

“As a PhD holder, Dr. Muguna does not need lobbying for promotions here at the county. He could now become anything including an ambassador or be appointed to any other capacity to serve the country and beyond,” said the Governor.

He was speaking during the thanksgiving ceremony for Meru Municipal Manager Dr. Silas Mbaabu Muguna who has been conferred with a PhD in Education Leadership and Management, at his home in Kigumone, Abothuguchi West, Central Imenti.

The Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu lauded Dr. Muguna for the achievement noting that he has earned the highest qualification in education despite being busy with the challenging work of the management of Meru Municipality.
