The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) West Pokot Assistant Executive Secretary Mathew Merimuk has announced his candidacy for the position of National Trustee representing the Rift Valley region.
He joins the list of multiple candidates, who have shown interest in the trustee positions across the region.
Merimuk expressed confidence in his bid, citing his long service within the union as a key strength. He noted that his experience has equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively serve in the role.
“I offer my candidature for the position of KUPPET National Trustee for the Rift Valley region and humbly request delegates to elect me so I can serve teachers diligently,” he said.

In an interview with Education News, Merimuk emphasized his commitment to integrity and professionalism, pledging to uphold high ethical standards if elected.
According to the KUPPET constitution, national trustees are tasked with scrutinizing the union’s financial records, making recommendations to the National Executive Board (NEB) and the National Governing Council (NGC), and maintaining inventories of union properties at both branch and national levels.
