All pupils sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will enjoy a meal at their schools, courtesy of Muvuti/Kiima Kimwe Ward Representative Caleb Mule who is also vying for the Machakos Town constituency seat.
Mr. Mule revealed he decided to extend the gesture after request from some parents from the area.
“During my tours across the constituency, parents informed me that they were faced with food challenges and I decided to share the little that I have with the pupils sitting for K.C.P.E this year,” said Mule.
He said due to inadequate rainfalls experienced this season, many homesteads were hit by hunger and thus it was important to cushion the pupils from starvation as they sit their exams.
Mule disclosed that over 4000 pupils in 130 schools will benefit from the school feeding programme comprised of rice and stew meal during the exam period.
He advised the pupils to be composed as they sat for their exams so as to achieve good results.
Mule also promised Sh20,000 for each pupil in his ward who scored over 370 marks in K.C.P.E
The MCA has been awarding pupils in his ward with monetary token in the past.
He wished all the candidates success in their exams.
