Macharia tastes challenge facing Kilifi KCSE students during exams

Teachers Service Commission CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia today got a taste of challenges Form Four students are going through as they head to school to write their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

Dr. Macharia walked barefoot in water and later rode on a boat to deliver KCSE examination papers to Marafiki Secondary school in Kilifi North.

In the company of police officers and other officials, she opened exam containers and oversaw exam activities in Kilifi County.

The secondary school examinations began last month with 884,263 candidates across the country and is expected to end on Friday, December 23.

The students had two papers on Friday – English Paper 1 and Chemistry Paper 1 while today they sat for Mathematics Paper 1 and English Paper 2.

The marking of KCSE papers will take place from January 2 to January 20, 2023. Schools will open on January 23, 2023.
