Machakos MP slams predecessor over school bus purchases

Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule accuses predecessor Dr. Victor Munyaka of prioritising school bus purchases for personal gain, vowing to focus on classrooms and sanitation.

Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule has slammed his predecessor, Dr Victor Munyaka, for prioritising the purchase of School buses during his tenure, saying there were more urgent infrastructural needs in schools across the constituency.

Mr Mule, who was speaking after a church service at Munga’la AIC in Machakos, where he campaigned for the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party candidate in the Mumbuni North MCA by-election, Harrison Wambua, the MP, said he had a detailed program to upgrade school infrastructure, including the construction of toilets and classrooms.

He claimed the former MP’s interest in purchasing school buses was motivated by the commission he earned from each purchase.

“There are more urgent needs in our schools which require my intervention. How do you buy buses for schools with dilapidated classrooms and toilets?” posed Mr Mule.

“My predecessor bought many school buses but we know the motivation was the commission which he pocketed from the transaction. I am not interested in such deals,”said Mule.

He promised to work with Mr Wambua to secure jobs for the Youths in Mumbuni North if the people elected him as the area MCA in the November 27 by-election.

Dr. Munyaka while campaigning for Wiper Party candidate for the Mumbuni North seat blamed Mr. Mule for token donation of maize flour to residents at the expense of development.
