The Maasai National Polytechnic is set to hold its inaugural graduation ceremony on 21 August 2026, marking a significant milestone in its development as a National Polytechnic.
Approximately 1,300 trainees are expected to graduate, joining thousands of alumni contributing to various sectors of Kenya’s economy. The milestone underscores the institution’s commitment to producing competent, innovative and industry-ready graduates equipped to pursue employment, entrepreneurship and further learning.
Maasai National Polytechnic Inaugural Graduation
The institute offers an array of Competency-Based Education and Training [CBET] programmes which are key in equipping the youth with relevant skills aligned with the industry requirements and national economic needs.

The Polytechnic is situated in a quiet, learner-friendly environment that nurtures creativity and innovations. It is sandwiched between Kajiado town and the county headquarters, a one-kilometre drive from Kajiado Town [Along Nairobi-Namanga Road, 79 kms from Nairobi.
The Polytechnic started offering post-secondary technical courses in 1986 and has grown exponentially since then, producing graduates who have stood out in various sectors of our society and economy. Currently, there are nine academic departments serviced by a team of qualified staff who are experts in their respective disciplines. The range of courses offered cuts across the following departments that strive to meet the labour market and community needs.

The institute offers driving classes: BCE, E and FG Courses. Motor Vehicle Mechanics [MVM] section has been promoted to be a centre of excellence.
The Maasai National Polytechnic has established itself as a leading TVET institution through its commitment to quality Technical Education and continues to play a crucial role in empowering individuals of the region and the country at large.
Over the years, Maasai National Polytechnic has expanded its training capacity and strengthened its role as a centre for skills development in Kajiado County and beyond. The institution currently serves approximately 2,000 trainees across 65 programmes, supported by 134 academic and 54 non-academic staff. Having trained more than 12,000 graduates since its establishment, the Polytechnic continues to respond to the growing demand for skilled and technically competent workers.
The institution has also strengthened its partnerships with industry, government agencies, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to enhance workplace learning and graduate employability. Through industrial attachments, internships, mentorship and workplace-based training, trainees gain practical exposure that complements classroom instruction. The Polytechnic has additionally embraced Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), enabling individuals who have acquired skills through work experience and informal training to have their competencies assessed and certified.
