Little-known Senetwo Junior Secondary School (JSS) from Chepareria, West Pokot County, has made history by clinching the 2025 Rift Valley Regional Basketball Championship in a stunning display of dominance.
The finals at Bomet Stadium marked the climax of an unbeaten run that began at the zonal, sub-county, and county levels.
Road to Victory
Senetwo beat Laikipia 53-2 and then defeated Narok 48-16. In quarters, it defeated Trans Nzoia 48-10, then outplayed Nandi 54-10 in semis.
In the finals, Senetwo sealed victory against Uasin Gishu in a hard-fought showdown.
The technical bench, led by Principal Jonathan Tukei Lokudia and coaches Brenda Ptiron and Akwen Khon, masterminded the team’s flawless strategy.
The roaring West Pokot cheering squad, spearheaded by Geofrey Kimtai and KNUT’s Assistant Executive Secretary Rusii Joseph, fueled the players’ unstoppable momentum.
Senetwo has emerged as the team to watch at the upcoming National Championships in Mombasa with this resounding victory.
Their journey from obscurity to regional glory promises an even fiercer showdown on the national stage.
