Lamu County Director of Education, Zachary Mutuiri, has finally retired from the Public Service Commission after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60 years, Education News has reliably established.
Speaking to Education News recently, Mutuiri said he has been replaced by Charles Nyakundi as the new Lamu County Director of Education.
The immediate former Director of Education, however, stated that he served in Lamu County for two and a half years.
Additionally, Mutuiri called on all education stakeholders and county residents to accord his successor maximum cooperation to enable him to discharge his duties more efficiently and effectively.

He also urged education stakeholders in the area to continue working as a team to enhance educational standards in the region.
He further asked stakeholders and county residents to cooperate fully and support education programmes to ensure their success.
