Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers( KUPPET) will continue supporting winning teams from various schools to enable them achieve holistic development in education.
Speaking at Kenyenya sports ground during the Sub county Kenya Secondary Schools Association (KESSA), KUPPET Kisii branch Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha said all teams are good but always the best are the ones that win.
During the highly contested ball matches among Kenyenya Sub county schools, Nyakorere emerged the sub county champions after trouncing the long holders of the Sub county soccer title St.Peters Keberesi High school.
In the first half, Nyakorere took the lead by scoring 1- 0 hut St Peters took a revenge to balance the game equation by scoring one goal at the last minute, setting the two teams to go for penalty to determine the winner.

Nyakorere emerged the winner against St.Peters Keberesi at 4- 3 to claim the coveted Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha’s trophy.
In the girls category, Kerongorori topped after beating Omobera at 1- 0, then proceeded to wallop Magenge SDA School at 2- 0 to claim the girls’ soccer supremacy.
Dominic Isita, the team manager of Kerongorori, said that early preparations and cooperation from the team coach Keterate Oyori and effort from the team captain Anacitaciah Miruka, contributed a lot to the success of the team and hoped for more success in the remaining competitions.
“It was not an easy walk but I thank my team coach and captain who put consistent effort to keep them breathing to the last kick.” He said.
Riokindo Boys High school will represent Kenyenya Sub county for volleyball during the County Competitions that will be at Nyachogochogo Sports ground in Nyamache Sub county, while Moteiribe will represent Kenyenya Sub county in volley girls as Kerongorori and Igorera stands in for Rugby from the sub county.

According to Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KESSSA) Secretary Geoffrey Nyantika, other qualifying schools to play Rugby during the Kisii County Secondary schools term two competitions that will host the 11 Sub-counties include Kisii School, Rioma and Bong’ota that will meet at pool A in Bong’onta Secondary school.
Cardinal Otunga Mosocho, Sameta and Nyanchwa will meet at their pool B in Sameta Secondary school as Nyabigena,and Gesero will be hosted in pool C at Tendere in Gucha Subcounty. Kerongorori, Ayora and Nyamache will play at pool D in Nyamache Secondary School.

The Girls Rugby pool A teams, will witness Kerongorori, Nyamache and Ayora of Etago Sub county hosted at Nyamache School as pool B that consists of Nyangoge, and Nyagonyi will play at Nyagonyi but Mesabakwa, Nyabisase and Nyamagwa will meet at pool B in Nyamagwa.
Hema Chitago and Nyabigena will move to Kereri to meet them in their pool D home ground.
Nyantika assured that all plans to make the event success Nyachogochogo, have been accomplished for the teams to kick off next week. He called for harmonious blending of all teams thrown from the 11 sub counties in Kisii region.
